Julia Amodeo Takes 2nd Place at Free Enterprise Competition

Juniors and seniors in the Clean Tech ECHS program competed in the 5th Annual Free Enterprise Marathon for Entrepreneurial High School and College Students on March 9, 2017 at SUNY Plattsburgh. The purpose of the competition is to encourage students to become better informed about the importance of free enterprise and to encourage and reward students' creativity and innovativeness. Students participated in an internal competition, "Free Enterprise Speak Off" at HVCC's TEC-SMART facility in Malta, N.Y. in January and were then chosen to attend the "Free Enterprise Marathon" at SUNY Plattsburgh. Julia Amodeo from Mechanicville was one of five members on the Clean Tech ECHS team. The team took 2nd place overall for the Innovation and Creativity challenge. The students developed a display for "Nature's Air Sponge". In addition to the award, students also received a $250 monetary reward.
